Confederate Cavalry Shell Jacket.
Rare! Superb example of a Confederate Cavalry Shell
Jacket. Classic lines of an enlisted Confederate uniform, stylish
wide sleeves with yellow cuffs and yellow high collar. It has a
seven-button front that has the standard "C" on the buttons. This
Shell Jacket is beautifully made of gray wool and has minimal moth damage
to one of the sleeves and front. Overall condition of the jacket is
very good. This rare Confederate Shell Jacket came from Southwestern
VA. Professionally mounted in a shadow-box frame, sealed and air
tight, ready to be hung.

Charleston Mercury, May 3, 1861. Less than three weeks after the
battle of Fort Sumter. Numerous articles for volunteers and
confederate movements. Four pages in Good condition.

MAB 17: Confederate
Imprint. Document dated
June 3, 1861 appointing J. D. Walker, Circuit Judge for Northwest
Arkansas, signed by the War-time Governor of Arkansas, Henry M. Rector.
Arkansas joined the C.S.A. May 16, 1861; and some elections were held before the
new C.S.A. commissions could be printed. This document has the
words "And of the Independence of the United States of
America" STRUCK THROUGH. This is very rare in this
form. Walker signs oath he has not fought at duel, etc on
verso. On the lower left margin is listed the vote for the
election.

of Mississippi to General Ruggles directing troop movement and
questioning the amount of cannons in place.

filled in. Signed by Governor Holbrook. Very
scarce.

Autographed Manuscript Signed by John H. Reagan. Pre-Civil War,
circa 1854, two-page legal size, signed as Residing Judge giving
instructions to the jury from Fairfield, Texas.

MAB 22: Inscribed Document by Confederate General
John Gregg. Autographed
Manuscript Signed by General Gregg. Pre-Civil War, circa 1858,
one-page legal size instructions to jury with jury verdict. Signed
as Judge of Freestone County, Texas. An extremely rare autograph
seldom seen. General Gregg was a member of the C.S.A Congress until
he was commissioned. He was killed in action on the Darby Town Road
on October 7, 1864.

100: Ex-Confederates Endorsement for Sheriff of Vastrop, Texas.
One page a.l.s. dated October 2, 1866 requesting John P. Jones
run for Office of Sheriff. At that time, Jones was the Post Master
and had served in the 8th Texas Cavalry. Most of the endorsements
were former CPSP Veterans such as John Claiborne of the 8th Texas Cavalry,
J. P. McBuchanan of the 12th Texas Cavalry, Joe Green of the 18th Texas
Cavalry, C. G. Morgan of the 8th Texas Cavalry, P. C. Sims of the 34th
Texas Cavalry, and Joe Woods of the 12th Texas Cavalry. Letter
is in very good condition. $100.00. |
